Ayu is getting married soon. Like really really soon. She
just got engaged last month and during the discussion, both families agreed to
speed up the marriage and right away set the date for her nikah – which is end
of this month!
No shit.
So we had to do a real last min prep for her
bachelorette! Knowing the girls aren’t easy when it comes to last min date, we’ve
decided to do it over lunch. It was exhausting chasing everyone’s confirmation.
I actually thought that throwing her a bridal shower this last min is
impossible! But with S help, i think we
pulled off a really good bridal shower for her. I settled the venue, she
settled the attendance.
as it was a last
min thing, there was no theme for the party, only that we all gotta bring
presents for each and everyone in the group for the goodie bags. I’ve decided not to let one person collect the
money and buy the goodies for everyone since I’ve learned my lesson when we do
that, people start to complain about the worth of the goods with the money that
they paid for. So, to avoid that, we give a budget and everyone has to buy
something for everyone else within that budget. We have to wrap it, and when we
all meet up, we combine all the gifts into separate bags so that everyone gets
the same amount of gifts without knowing what’s inside it.
Venue – it was kinda hard for me to pick a venue because Im
a smoker, they are not. I need to find a place that we all can eat, gossip,
play games but at the same time, im allowed to smoke. I tried to avoid indoor
places because if I gotta smoke, I have to go outside. And we planned to spend
the time at the place for at least 3 hours! I also tried to avoid busy places
because I figured everyone will make a lot of noises during the party and we don’t
want other people to feel uncomfortable or getting our ass kicked out of the
place. Eventually I managed to shortlist marmalade publika, palate palette and
souled-out ampang. Ive never been to marmalade publika, so I was kinda 50-50 on
that. S wanted to try palate palette so she just made my decision making easier
and faster. I just booked the place right away!
We all carpooled to the place. Ayu came slightly later
and azielah joined us after she finished working. We started with ordering food,
opening up gifts, gossiping about random stuff and end it with a few table
games. It was hilarious and fun! I was the host so I didn’t play the games. I conduct
and judge and pick the winners. I think what I like the most is the What’s in
Your Purse? Game. I pick random item in my head and they have to dig their
purses to see if they have it. The person with the most items win. Surprisingly
it was azielah. She basically have everything in her bag!
